Week of September 2, 2018

In your daily devotions this week pray for the Anglican Church of Southern America; the ministry of Prison Chaplains; the ministry of the Diocesan Staff; the members and ministry of the Communications Committee and the Diocesan Congregational Development Team; and John Manola, and John Sosnowski, priests of our diocese.

The Flowers on the Altar are given to the greater glory of God and in loving memory of David Norris, brother of Roger Norris.

September food drive - Suggested donations for September include pasta, pasta sauce and canned pasta (spaghetti, spaghetti-o's, ravioli, lasagna). As always, other items are also welcome. Thank you very much for your continued support of our food drive for the people served by the Christian Caring Center.

ShopRite & Acme cards will not be sold this weekend, due to the Labor Day holiday. Look for us again next week!

New Deacon's Office Hours: Deacon Helen will have no office hours during the coming week. Beginning the week of September 9, she will be available Wednesday afternoons from 12noon-3pm and Friday mornings from 9am-12 noon. Please feel free to stop in for any need or just to say hello.

Oktoberfest Medford - September 15th, 12pm-7pm in Freedom Park! We need your help to represent St. Peter's! We will have a photo booth, handouts, pictures and candy to share our church with our community. Please contact Beckie McCammitt or see the sign up sheet in William's hall to help! beckie6492@gmail.com 856-313-9325.

During the weekend of September 8 and 9, we will be holding "Congregational Conversations" which will be facilitated by Canon Connie White, Assistant Transitions Officer in the Diocese of NJ. We ask for the congregation's participation and input into the type of priest St. Peter's needs in the future. The information obtained through these conversations will be used to complete our required parish profile which will be posted and used as a recruitment tool during our search process. Please plan to attend either at 3:30 pm on Saturday, September 8 or at 8:45 am on Sunday, September 9. Light refreshments will be provided.

Wednesday Bible Study - The Wednesday Bible Study that meets at 11 am in the library will start up again on September 19th. This year we will be reading through the book Bible Women: All Their Words and Why They Matter by Lindsay Hardin Freeman. This book walks us through the books of the Bible to find all of the women who speaks in the Bible, providing their words, context, and historical background. We will find out who speaks the most and also the least. In the end we will join with the mothers, grandmothers, warriors, prophets, prostitutes, and murderers. We are promised that we won't come out the same! This book is available in the parish office for the cost of $20.00.
