Week of May 5, 2019

In your daily devotions this week pray for the Anglican Church of Kenya; the members and ministry of the Planned Giving Committee and the Fresh Start Program; Churches in Transition; Henry Bristol, Janet Daniels, Carlton Dunn, Theodore Foley, Sally Maurer, Clive Sang, Magdalena Aders, William Balmer, Carolyn Bradley, Paul Chalakani, Eve Chamberlain, Naomi Cressman, Dorothea Hospador, Jorge Martinez, Chizoba Nwankwo, Karen Reeman and Trish Thorme, deacons of our diocese; and Patricia Pierce, Margaret Sterchi, and John Lock, priests of our diocese.

The Flowers on the Altar are given to the greater glory of God and in loving memory of Willard Eldred, father of Sue Santangelo, Paul Joos, husband of Maureen Joos; and Susan Wallace DeSalvo, sister of Nancy Castiglia.

Status of Calling a New Priest: The vestry wanted to take this opportunity to address rumors that are circulating about the status in calling a new priest for St. Peter's. As you are aware, the discernment committee and vestry have been working very hard in finalizing this process. We are getting close to making an announcement to the congregation, however, we must adhere to and follow all of the guidelines set forth by the Diocese of New Jersey. We can understand your anxiety as we have reached the 10-month mark since Fr. Don's retirement. We ask for your continued patience, trust and prayers over the next few weeks until we are able to make an announcement as to who will be the next priest for St. Peter's.

Support our shared ministry with Redemption School, Haiti, while enjoying a great meal with members and friends of St Peter's at Panera Bread at the Promenade (500 S. Route 73, Marlton, 08053) this coming Tuesday, May 7, from 4-8pm. Panera Bread will donate 20% of net Eat-In Sales when a customer orders at the counter and presents a paper flyer or shows the virtual flyer available on St. Peter's website or Facebook page. Love Panera but can't join us? Place an online Pick-Up or Rapid Delivery order on the same date/time and use the code: PRFUND. See you then!

Rectory Grounds Clean Up Day will be Saturday, May 11, 900 AM - 100 PM. All work will take place at the Rectory. Please bring chainsaws, pole saws, loppers, rakes, blowers, shovels, and work gloves. Also need adult supervisors to help at the event please - so even if you cannot do heavy labor, you can still help! If we get heavy rain, our Rain Date will be Saturday, May 18, 2019, same times. Thank you! John Colaianni 609.792.4055 (call / text)

Are you ready to ride? UrbanPromise's Pedal for Promise is coming May 11, 2019 to Burlington County. So get your bike ready and ride with purpose to bring quality Christian education to Camden's youth. The 12, 30, or 62 mile loop is perfect for the novice to the road warrior. There are well stocked rest stops, SAG support on the road, and a fun lunch at the end. Create a church team or ride as a family or individual. Visit the website to register: www.urbanpromiseusa.org/pedal. Contact Jennifer Giordano, Church Relations Director, if you have any questions: jgiordano@urbanpromiseusa.org or 856-382-1864.

Adult Forum: Our Adult Forum, Life Transformed: The Way of Love in Lent & Easter, will hold its concluding meeting on Sunday, May 5 from 9-10am in Moore Memorial Chapel.

Acme and ShopRite cards are once again for sale following all services. Purchasing your groceries with our cards supports the ministry of Redemption School in Gonaives, Haiti. Thank you.

St Peter's J2A Fundraiser - Let's help get our students to travel to Montreal and Quebec, Canada to learn of the cultures and faith in another country. The students hope to learn from these new travels to understand how to assist those in need in our own community! Our Goal is $1,800. Here is how you can help!! Donate $10 or more and receive a WAWA gift card! The gift card will be at least $5 BUT it could be worth up to $25!! So, do you feel lucky? Everyone is a winner! First you help out our J2A students! Second, you get a $5 gift card! And if you are really lucky it might be $25!! Donations are also gladly accepted too! Feel free to be a sponsor and donate generously!!

S.O.A.R. - This month our small group will finish the year with a tour of Cross Keys one room school House. We will meet at the school at 11:30 AM on May 14th for the tour then head over to the Marlton Diner for lunch. Cross Keys School is located on Mill Street. From St. Peter's, go south at the traffic light and make the first left turn onto Mill Street. The school is on the right a short drive down. This property has been restored exactly as it was when it was a school. It has a teacher's desk, a pot-bellied stove, a chalk board, a large ceramic crock for drinking water, a clock, a flag, historical pictures, assorted memorabilia of the time period, and double wooden student desks with lids that lift to reveal a place for school supplies such as slates, chalk and books. This is not to be missed. This will be our last meeting for this year and hopefully meet again in September. I hope you all have a great summer.

Acolyte Training will be given after the 10:15 service on May 19th. This training is available for both new Acolytes and existing Acolytes. Any questions contact Jack Hobson at either Hobson.j@verizon.net or 609.504.0432.

Thank you to everyone who helped with the Rummage Sale through the week and on Saturday.
