Date posted: Fri, Apr 5th, 2019

In your daily devotions this week pray for the Church of Ireland; the members and ministry of the Board of Consultation; the Episcopal Church Women; the Provincial Synod and the Discerning Our Common Call Steering Committee; Gail Bennett, Louise Cressman, Daniel Hall, Keith McCoy, Frederick Pray, Mary Jo Smith, Warren Spencer and Susan Taylor, deacons of our diocese; and William Speer, William Gerhart and Karl Morrison, priests of our diocese.

The semiannual UTO Ingathering is today. The UTO is a vital and important outreach ministry of The Episcopal Church providing grants to fund projects which enhance and expand The Churches mission and ministry both in the USA and worldwide. These projects are funded by Thank Offerings from all who contribute and because of your offerings has become a growing legacy of The Episcopal Church for over 125 years! Please include your Thank Offering in the special UTO envelopes in the bulletin to be collected at the offering today. "Your change changes Lives!"

Maundy Thursday Foot-Washing: On the night before his death, Jesus washed the feet of his disciples, an act of humble service. The Maundy Thursday Foot-Washing reenacts this event, reminding each of us that we are to be servants to others. We are looking for twelve volunteers to represent the twelve disciples at the original foot-washing. Please sign-up on the narthex clipboard.

Maundy Thursday Vigil at the Altar of Repose: The night before his betrayal and arrest, Jesus prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane, first telling his disciples: "I am deeply grieved, even to death; remain here and stay awake with me." (Matt. 26: 38b) The disciples fell asleep. In order that we might do what Jesus' closest friends could not, we invite you to spend one hour in Moore Memorial Chapel, keeping vigil over the Blessed Sacrament between the end of the Maundy Thursday Liturgy and the beginning of the Good Friday Liturgy. Please sign-up for the time you will keep vigil on the clipboard located on the narthex table.
