Date posted: Fri, Aug 3rd, 2018

In your daily devotions this week pray for the Scottish Episcopal Church; the members and ministry of Convocation Secretaries; the Trustees of the Van Duzer Scholarship Fund; the Hispanic Commission and the ministry of Hospital Chaplains; churches in Transition and Mark Stevenson and Pedro Guzman, priests of our diocese.

The Flowers on the Altar are given to the greater glory of God and in loving memory of Rowland and Jean Napier Ricketts, parents of Jean Ricketts; George and Corrine Gruenwald, parents of Deacon Helen; and Marty Banecker, husband of Debbie Banecker.

August food drive - Suggested donations for August include baby food, formula, peanut butter, jelly and canned soup. As always, other items are also welcome. Thank you very much for your continued support of our food drive for the people served by the Christian Caring Center.

ShopRite & Acme cards are available for sale in the narthex following all services and are redeemable for full face value. St. Peter's receives 5% of each purchase to help fund faculty salaries and other needs at Redemption School, Gonaives, Haiti. Thank you.

Updated Deacon's Office Hours: Beginning July 30 and continuing through Labor Day, hours will be Wednesdays August 1, 15, 22, and 29 from 9am-12 noon. Please feel welcome to drop in!

Operation Fill-a-Backpack: We're collecting school supplies and backpacks for children served by Oaks Integrated Care. Please help fill the labeled bin in the narthex July 27-August 11. Suggestions include backpack for boy or girl, insulated lunch bag, organizers and binders, pens, markers, highlighters, pencils, erasers, notebooks, loose-leaf paper, rulers, scissors, glue sticks, index cards, book covers, report folders, calculators, tissue packets and hand sanitizers. Thanks for your support!

Today during the service, take a moment to look around. Is there someone from St. Peter's you haven't seen in a while? Let them know that you miss them! On the long table in the narthex, there are postcards for you to send to a friend who hasn't been here in a while. Feel free to take one, write a note to the person and mail it, or fill it out and leave it in the basket and Lisa will mail them. Please be sure to sign your name so that they know who sent it.

Please remember our ill and home bound parishioners. Send them a "letter of light" on the round table in Williams Hall.
