Week of July 9, 2017
Date posted: Fri, Jul 7th, 2017

In your daily devotions this week pray for the Church of Okinawa, Japan; the members and ministry of the Black Clergy Caucus; the Migrant Ministry; the Jubilee Ministries; and the Stewardship Commission; and Linus Amonu and Peter Bridge, priests of our diocese.

The Flowers on the Altar are given to the greater glory of God and in loving memory of Albert VanDuzer, father of Daryl Albury and Lynn Muller.

ShopRite Cards continue to be available for sale after all services, in the usual denominations of $20.00, $50.00 & $100.00. Thank you to all who now support or will support our major fundraiser to benefit the 400 students of Redemption School in Gonaives, Haiti. Remember: Each time you purchase a card, St. Peter's receives 5% of the card's value, at no cost to you.

July Food Drive - Suggested donations for July include pancake mix, syrup, cereal, oatmeal and canned fruit. As always, other items are also welcome. Thank you very much for your continued support of our food drive for the people served by the Christian Caring Center.

Caps & Laps is selling a homemade herb dip to benefit Vacation Bible School. Each dip sells for $3 and comes with the herbs and instructions. An envelope is provided for the donation on the long table.

During Vacation Bible School we will be collecting gently used children's books through the radio station K-LOVE 106.9. According to the station these books are distributed through, "primary care pediatricians and nurse practitioners to provide books in the exam rooms during well visits and promote best practices for parents and children". Their "Reach Out and Read" program is looking for new or gently used children's books for children ages 6 months to 5 years. They cannot accept books with sensitive issues and/or illustrations such as abuse, death, divorce, violence and weapons. The books can be dropped off during VBS in the designated container in Williams Hall.

Teachers are needed for next year in the following levels: Godly Play assistant, Grades 1-3, 4-5 and Rite 13. If you are interested please contact Sue Legnani at slegnani@ . This is a very worthwhile and fun ministry with our children. Teachers generally teach in pairs and are on the schedule every other Sunday. We try to give as much support as you need so you're not doing this all alone.

Rutger's Reading Classes will again be using our facility on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Please do not disturb these classes. Thank you.
