In your daily devotions this week pray for the Diocese of New Jersey; the members and ministry of the Companion Diocese Committee; the New Jersey Ministry to the Imprisoned; the Ministry of Bishops; the Members and Ministry of the Bishop's Advisory Commission on Music and the Trustees of Diocesan Trust Funds, Rosemarie Broderick, Christopher Cox, Susan Cushinotto, Judith Krom David Lawson-Beck, Joseph Sweeney, deacons of our diocese; Carmen Viola, Archdeacon of our diocese and Charles Lochner, priest of our diocese.

The Flowers on the Altar are given to the greater glory of God and in loving memory of Grace Santangelo, mother of Joe Santangelo.

ShopRite Cards continue to be available for sale after all services, in the usual denominations of $20.00, $50.00 & $100.00. Thank you to all who now support or will support our major fundraiser to benefit the 400 students of Redemption School in Gonaives, Haiti. Remember: Each time you purchase a card, St. Peter's receives 5% of the card's value, at no cost to you.

St. Peters will be hosting homeless families the week of October 15-22. I want to thank everyone who volunteered in January and look forward to your support in October.
We need a chairperson and volunteers for each of the following committees before our members start their summer vacations. As a chairperson or committee member, your role will be to coordinate the functions of your committee and get volunteers to participate the week of October 15-22.
*Transportation- pick up our guests each day at 5 pm from Interfaith Hospitality(IHN) on Main Street in Moorestown and drive them to St. Peters. At 6:45 am drive our guests from St.Peters to IHN . The van is provided by IHN.
*Overnight lodging at St. Peters- each night we need two adult members of St. Peters to stay with the homeless. Volunteers will arrive at St. Peters around 8:30 pm and leave at 7 am. Cots will be provided for all volunteers.
*Food- provide dinner at St. Peters and to go bags for breakfast and lunch. Committee members will review food allergies and dietary restrictions with members providing and serving the meals. Members providing and serving dinner need to be at St. Peters from 5 pm to 7 pm.
*Entertainment- coordinate with St. Peters youth groups to play games or other activities with the homeless after dinner. Volunteers will be at St. Peters from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
*Set up and take down of cots and convert Sunday school classrooms to bedrooms- After the 10:15 service on Sunday, October 15, remove school tables and chairs, set up cots, install window treatments, make the bed for each homeless guest and lay a towel and wash cloth on each homeless guest's cot. On Sunday October 22 around 8:45 am, take down the cots and place them into the storage trailer, set up the tables and chairs in the classrooms, remove the window treatments and drive the van and storage trailer to the next church.
*Laundry- wash sheets, blankets and towels.
As I have said before, it takes a village to provide food and housing to the homeless. Please send me an email (reference homeless) to volunteer to be on one or more of the above committees. Thank you for your continued support. Joe Santangelo
