Week of May 19, 2019
Date posted: Fri, May 17th, 2019

In your daily devotions this week pray for the Anglican Church of Melanesia; the ministry of Transition Officers, the members and ministry of the Bishop’s Advisory Commission on Music; alternates to General Convention, candidates and postulants and the members and ministry of the Bishop’s Advisory Commission on Liturgy; Jane Gober and Glenn Matis, priests of our diocese.

The Flowers on the Altar are given to the greater glory of God and in loving memory of Kenneth Ray, brother of Barbara Dane.

St. Peter’s IOT continues its sale of Acme and ShopRite cards following all services. Cards are available in denominations of $20., $50., and $100.00 and are as good as cash. Although you pay nothing for using these cards, ShopRite & Acme both donate 5% of each card’s value to St. Peter’s. The sale of these cards is the major fundraiser towards our annual $2,200.00 pledge to Redemption School ($2,000.) and the Haiti Partnership Program.

As announced through email on May 13, the Rev. Canon Valerie Balling has accepted the call to be the priest-in-charge at St. Peter's starting on August 1, 2019.  If you missed the email, please see the full announcement on the table in the narthex.

Help us welcome our new priest.  We invite you to write a few words of welcome for Reverend Valerie. There are supplies in the narthex; just write your welcome, sign your name, and leave it in the basket. We will put the welcome notes on the vestry bulletin board in Williams Hall for Reverend Valerie to see when she arrives.  Thank you.

Acolyte Training will be given after the 10:15 service on May 19th. This training is available for both new Acolytes and existing Acolytes. Any questions contact Jack Hobson at either Hobson.j@verizon.net or 609.504.0432.

The Rectory grounds cleanup was a huge success on Saturday morning, May 11th.   If you drive past the Rectory, and have been wondering, "Hmm, something looks different...." then YOU ARE CORRECT!  A dedicated group of volunteers filled - completely filled - a twenty-yard dumpster in less than 3 hours on Saturday morning.  Your Vestry hopes that the ongoing improvements are pleasing to your eyes. Please join me in thanking the following people (and remind all of you that you too can get in on the fun that we have working side-by-side with our brothers and sisters in Christ): Jennifer Buzby, Doug "Chainsaw" Hadden, Maureen Joos, Michelle, Michael and Evan Scarpulla, Tiffany Myers, Jack and Jane Hobson, Ben Jones, John Colaianni, and of course the wonderful young men, young women, and parents of Scouts Troop 26 !!!!   John Colaianni

SPRING HAS SPRUNG, AND OUR KITCHEN IS IN NEED OF LOTS OF LOVE:  Since our kitchen is in need but is too small to accommodate a cleaning crew at one time, I have decided to number the cabinets so that a person could schedule a time, pick a cabinet, clean it, do an inventory of contents and leave it in my mailbox.  This way no one would have an enormous task, and our kitchen would be clean and very presentable. Pick a date, sign the sheet, you pick most convenient time for your service, no need to call anyone, or if a couple want to do it together that is your decision.  Signup sheet is on the table in the narthex. Any questions, contact Beverly Scollay, 856-334-8734.
